There’s no single answer. The best printing method depends on your logo, the mug style you choose, and the quantity you need. When you send us your enquiry, share your logo or design idea and we’ll advise on the right method for your artwork, mug and budget. There’s no charge for that advice and no obligation to proceed.
One thing worth knowing: don’t assume a particular print method based on your colours alone. A common misconception is that a one-colour logo will always be cheaper to screen print, but on certain mugs and quantities a full-colour dye sublimation print can actually work out less expensive and produce the same result. Tell us your colours, send us your logo, or what you’re trying to achieve and we’ll come back with whatever option genuinely works best for you, not limiting our search to one print method.
01
Screen printing
During screen printing, ink is mixed to match your brand colours and applied directly to the mug surface through a fine mesh screen. Each colour is applied separately, building up the design layer by layer. It produces a clean, sharp, durable result and is the most widely used method for logos with a defined set of solid colours.
02
Sublimation printing
When sublimation printing, your artwork is printed onto transfer paper and then bonded to the mug surface using heat and pressure, embedding the colour permanently into the ceramic glaze. Because the ink becomes part of the mug rather than sitting on top of it, sublimation can cover the entire surface including around the handle with no edges or gaps.
03
Digital full-colour printing
Digital printing takes your high-resolution artwork and applies it directly to the mug’s surface, similar to how a high-quality inkjet printer works. It handles detailed logos and multi-colour designs without the need for separate colour mixing or transfer paper. A practical method for complex artwork where a full sublimation wrap isn’t required.
We offer over 200 ceramic mug styles. Whether you need functional mugs for an office, a premium gift for a client, or a packaged set for an event, we have a style to suit your brief and your budget.
This is the most widely ordered style, and for good reason. Standard ceramic mugs come in a range of sizes and colours, and they suit almost any brief. If you need reliable quality across a straightforward order, this is where to start.
Two tone mugs have a different colour on the inside or handle to the outside, which gives a clean, considered look without needing a complex design. They work well when you want something that feels a little more distinctive than a standard white ceramic.
A blackboard panel on the side lets you write on the mug with chalk markers. Coffee shops, hospitality venues and offices order these regularly. They add a personal touch that a purely printed mug simply cannot offer.
We supply custom printed espresso cups for hospitality venues, offices and corporate gifting. Available as gift-boxed sets of two, they make a neat and polished option for client gifts and staff rewards.
Several styles across our range come with branded gift boxes, so the packaging becomes part of the product. These work well for client gifts, employee recognition, award nights and event prizes where presentation is just as important as the mug itself.
Travel mugs are available in a range of materials and insulation properties, so there is an option to suit most briefs and budgets. A practical branded item that goes beyond the desk and into everyday life.
Branded mugs work because people use them every single day. Every time someone picks one up, your logo is on show, on their desk, in a meeting room, in the office kitchen. That kind of repeated, passive visibility is difficult to achieve with most promotional products, and it costs you nothing after the initial order.
According to the Advertising Specialty Institute’s 2023 Ad Impressions Study, 63% of consumers keep and use branded drinkware for one year or longer, and 30% say they are more likely to do business with an advertiser who gave them branded drinkware
That daily, passive visibility is what makes custom printed mugs so valuable for UK businesses. One order can put your brand in front of staff, clients, partners and supporters consistently, in a setting no digital ad can reach.
For businesses that use branded mugs at events or as giveaways, reordering is common because the results are visible and the product travels. A mug handed out at an event carries your brand into offices, homes and workplaces long after the day is done.
Office orders tend to be less frequent, but that is partly the point. One order can keep your brand in front of staff, clients and visitors consistently for years without any further effort or spend.
Unlike many promotional items that get used once and forgotten, a quality branded mug becomes part of someone’s daily routine. That daily habit is what makes mugs one of the most consistently ordered promotional products by UK businesses, charities and organisations.
Because a mug lasts so long, the cost per impression is exceptionally low. There is no subscription, no renewal and no algorithm to beat. Your brand simply stays visible, every time someone makes a cup of tea.
New starter packs, desk items, client gifts, meeting rooms and internal brand campaigns.
A branded mug on every desk is one of the most consistent brand touchpoints a company can create, visible every time someone makes a drink.
Fundraising merchandise, awareness campaigns, volunteer thank-you gifts and retail items.
A mug with meaningful branding keeps a cause visible long after an event ends and sells well as low-cost retail merchandise.
End-of-season gifts, club merchandise, new member welcome packs and sponsor-branded items.
A quality club mug is something members genuinely want to own, not just a generic giveaway.
Site offices, team gifts, contractor welcome packs and company merchandise.
Branded mugs are ordered across every type of working environment, from polished corporate offices to construction sites.

Staff recognition, awareness campaigns, charity events and departmental giftingÂ
A cost-effective way to recognise teams across large, distributed workforces.
Minimum order quantities vary depending on the style of mug. As a general rule, we can supply mugs in very low quantities. A typical minimum is around 25 units, although some premium or gift-boxed styles may require slightly lower quantities, while certain budget options can sometimes require more. Thanks to our wide product range and strong buying power, we can usually find low-quantity options.
When you enquire, we will confirm the minimum for whichever style you are interested in.
Typical turnaround is around two weeks, but this varies depending on the product. Some mugs can be turned around in a matter of days, so if you are working to a tight deadline, tell us upfront and we will do everything we can to hit it.
For the best result, we need your artwork as a vectorised file with all text saved as curves or outlines. The file formats we work with are PDF, AI, EPS and CDR. These formats are used because they maintain colour quality and scale accurately when we apply your design to the product.
If your artwork is not in one of these formats, we can also accept JPG, PNG, TIFF and GIF files. In that case, we will redraw your design into vectored artwork for a small additional charge.
In most cases yes. We will rarely quote you a mug that is not dishwasher safe, and if we ever do, we will tell you clearly. The print methods we use are built to last and can withstand hundreds of dishwasher cycles under normal conditions. If dishwasher durability is important to you, mention it when you enquire and we will give you product-specific information.
A promotional mug is typically a standard ceramic with your logo applied, designed for volume distribution at events, offices or giveaways. A corporate gift mug is more about presentation, featuring premium finishes like a matt glaze, two tone colours or gift boxing. Both are available across our range and the right choice depends on your brief and budget.
Yes, always. Before anything goes into production, we will send you a visual proof of how your logo will look on the mug. Nothing is printed until you are happy with it.
Yes. We can source a wide range of sustainable and eco-friendly options. The easiest way to find the right one is to tell us what you are looking for, whether that is recycled materials, a particular certification or something else entirely, and we will find the best option available.
Yes. You can order the same mug in multiple colourways within a single order, so your logo could go onto white, black and navy mugs for example, as long as it is the same mug style throughout.
It depends on the mug. For most styles, a setup charge applies for each different design. However, we do offer a particular style where a completely different design can be applied to every single mug for the same cost as printing one design across the whole order. This makes it ideal for team gifting, where each person can have something unique. Ask us about this when you enquire.
Yes, we deliver nationwide across the UK.
The simplest way is to drop us an email with as much detail as you have. Here’s some things to share if you have them at the time: logo or design, the quantity you need, the type of mug if you have one in mind, and the number of colours in your artwork. Alternatively, browse our product site, find a style you like and send us a quote request or mention it in your email. We will come back to you with a quote based on what you asked for, or suggest a few options we think will work well for you.
Yes. Tell us your deadline when you get in touch and we will move as fast as we can to meet it. The earlier you let us know, the more options we have available to you.
